Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival has announced its initial lineup of headliners for 2016 and that the festival is adding an east coast date for the first time ever. As Punk News reports, Flogging Molly, Descendents, The Exploited, Subhumans, Dillinger Four and many others will be playing the festival. In addition to taking over its usual home in Las Vegas May 26-30, the festival will also be taking place June 10-12 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

As Brooklyn Vegan reports, the initial lineup is stacked with legends. In addition to the heavy hitters listed above, the festival will feature FLAG (Keith Morris' version of Black Flag), Dag Nasty, Anti-Nowhere League, Youth Brigade and The Dwarves. Details regarding which bands will be playing which dates, as well as the full lineup, will be announced at a later date.

For the uninitiated, Punk Rock Bowling is an annual festival that Shawn and Mark Stern, the brothers behind longstanding independent label BYO Records who are also two-thirds of the punk outfit Youth Brigade, have been organizing since 1999. Much like all things punk, it started simply as a party meant to bring the indie punk rock music scene together. The event has since grown into a full-blown four day festival that brings thousands of fans to downtown Las Vegas for three days of outdoor events, four nights of club shows, a two-day bowling tournament, hotel pool parties, a punk rock poker tournament, movie screenings and comedy shows. As this is the first year that the festival is also heading to the east coast, there is not yet much information regarding the overall programming plan for Asbury Park, but if the event goes down in New Jersey like it has in past years in Vegas, punks can expect a full weekend of much more than just moshing and bowling.

It is worth noting that past years' lineups featured around three-dozen bands, so that second lineup announcement is sure to be a doozy. Tickets usually go on sale after the New Year. For more information, check out the official event website here.
