Frank Ocean has officially come out of hiatus. The Odd Future crooner made an appearance last night (April 29) at the Time 100 Gala.

According to Page Six, there is another big gala around the corner, and Ocean may even perform.

Last year, Anna Wintour hit up Kanye West to perform at the Met Gala, just prior to the release of his highly discussed Yeezus album.

The site reports sources saying Ocean would be this year's performer.

If the rumors are true, this will be Ocean's first public performance since canceling his Australian tour and OVO Fest appearance last year due to a vocal cord injury.

Ocean has not released any new music since his 2012 Channel Orange.

As previously reported, the "Novacane" singer has been in the studio working on his follow-up album.

He took to social media to make the announcement.

Although he didn't post a caption, the photo of him in the studio on his tumblr page said it all.

Celebrity photographer Nabil offered up a little bit more detail when he reposted the photo with a simple line, "Frank in the lab.. Making sophomore album game."

Ocean used his tumblr page to announce his return to music back in November. In part, the post reads, "i used my birthday week pass to stay in my apartment for too long.. sit still and catch up on some information. i didn't watch any news or read it ...figured all that sh*t was gonna happen either way. i'm back to work these days."

As far as what Ocean will perform if he performs at the Met Gala, things are up in the air. Hopefully he'll perform one of his new tracks.

Stay tuned.
