Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has a pretty ominous title. Considering the video game series' long run and success, should we consider the 2016 release the swan song of Nathan Drake? Well, according to an interview with Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann, it sounds like the developers could kill off the series' main character! Will this hurt the gameplay experience for loyal fans?

When asked in a new interview with The Sun about possibly ending the gaming series by killing off the main character, Druckmann was, at first, optimistically vague, but then dropped a big hint about the end of A Thief's End.

"He's at the height of his popularity, so it's not a good business decision. But I feel like the best way to honor him is to go out on top, to finish his story," he explained, according to IGN. " Whether that's it for Uncharted? I don't know. At the end of the day Sony owns Uncharted and they can do whatever they want."

Concluding his answer to the question, Druckmann stated: "But with the end of this story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake."

We can read into this quote as much as we'd like, but it certainly sounds like emotions will play a big part in the ending of this upcoming release. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is set to hit shelves on April 26, 2016. It was originally supposed to launch in March, but Druckmann and Naughty Dog pushed the release back.

"Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn't do it if we didn't feel in our hearts it's the best course of action for the game," Druckmann said in a statement on the PlayStation blog.
