Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are working on a new album and fans won't have to wait very long after its release for the guitarist/vocalist to perform it live. The band announced a slew of tour dates to begin in August, just five days after Hypnotic Eye is released on July 29.

The band will play a total of 30 dates, beginning in San Diego and looping around the country before ending up back in Los Angeles during October. Some highlights include headlining the Lock'n Festival in Arrington, VA, an appearance at Outside Lands in San Francisco, plus playing at Boston's Fenway Park. No openers have been named at this point.
