Saddly, the pause in Chicago's gun violence aided in part by Chance The Rapper's help with the #SaveChicago campaign was short lived.

According to Vibe magazine, Lil Durk's affiliate and fellow rapper OTF Nunu was shot and killed outside the Chatham Village Square Mall on Chicago's South Side yesterday (May 31).

The magazine's site released minimal details on the incident, reporting that Nunu was met with gunfire by an on-foot shooter as he sat in the driver's seat of a white SUV.

It has also been reported that as Nunu attempted to flee the scene, he crashed into the window of a store.

The shooting occurred in the early afternoon around 3 p.m.

He was 21-years-old and planning to release a mixtape this summer.

Producers Young Chop and A Zae took to Twitter to express their condolences.

Just last week, Music Times reported that Chicago MC Chance The Rapper had joined forces with a local campaign to combat the city's gun violence.

Chance used this past Memorial Day weekend to help his father start a social media campaign.

He took to Twitter using the hashtag #SaveChicago while a grassroots campaign took to the streets with posters and banners that read #SAVECHICAGO.

Memorial Day was a peaceful one, for the most part, in the Windy City.

Chance later tweeted about the campaign's good work saying, "Come to FIND OUT WE WENT 42 HOURS FROM THURSDAY TO SATURDAY NIGHT W/O ONE SHOOTING."

It may be time for Chance and his father to get the campaign back on the streets.
