The Lumineers are back with a stomper of a new song, the piano-led "Ophelia," and now the new cut finally has a music video. On Thursday (Feb. 11), the folk rockers released the clip for its lead Cleopatra single, filled with romping around the city and stomping through some puddles - because why not?
The visual for "Ophelia" begins with what seems like a standard set performance from The Lumineers, but right before the first chorus, the band's frontman Wesley Schultz has an out of body experience and leaves the stage to have a little dance in the rain. The fantasy sequence, distinguished mostly through a change in screen ratio, features Schultz skipping puddles, sashaying down the street and channeling old school musicals. If it sounds endearing, that's because it is.
"Ophelia" is the lead single from The Lumineers' forthcoming sophomore album Cleopatra, which is the follow-up to the band's massive 2012 self-titled album, which featured singles "Ho Hey" and "Stubborn Love."
Cleopatra is expected for release on April 8. The band will follow the release of their album with a world tour, set to kick off on April 14 in Bristol, U.K. Their North American Tour will begin a month later, on May 21, in Houston.
