Max B was recently thrusted into the spotlight after Kanye West revealed his intentions to name his new album WAVES and an online beef with Wiz Khalifa followed. Now that the feud has been settled and the incarcerated rapper offered his approval of the title, which was later changed to The Life of Pablo, Max B has decided to share some new music of his own. The Harlem-bred rhymer’s collaboration, "Silver Surfer," with Khalifa, Joe Young and Alpac made its way to the Internet this week.

The song, which bears the same name as an interlude by Max B featured on TLOP, was produced by Dame Grease and it came together through a series of events.

“The story behind this track is crazy,” Grease told Complex. “I had been working with Joe Young out of Germany, and he had an unreleased song with Max B from before Max got locked up. When the controversy over Kanye considering naming his album WAVES and the dispute between Wiz Khalifa and Kanye happened, I spoke to Joe and said the time was right to let the world hear Max again.”

Earlier this month, Max B spoke with the hosts of The Breakfast Club and shared his thoughts on WAVES as West’s album title. He said that he regarded the title as a tribute, of sorts. "He ain't drop a diss record, he just called his album WAVES. And everybody know I'm the wavy daddy."

If there was any confusion of where the term originated, Khalifa made sure to inform fans and other Twitter users alike at the height of his online feud with the “No More Parties in L.A.” rapper.

“Please don't take the wave,” he tweeted, following up with, “Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him. He's the reason I sing on all my songs. That's the wave. If theres nothing wit that sound ITS NOT WAVY.”

Max is currently in prison, serving a 75-year sentence for armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and murder.
