Good things don't last forever, and New York radio personality Angie Martinez is the latest to attest to that.

After a long run, more than 15 years to be exact, Martinez abruptly resigned from Hot 97. And to add insult after injury, Martinez reportedly signed a deal with Power 105 less than 24 hours after.

As NY Daily News puts it, Martinez just gave Power a one up in the city's long-running hip-hop radio wars.

The radio host turned tv star had her final Hot 97 show Wednesday afternoon. During the show, she did not mention her switch to Power, though it had been widely rumored.

Power 105 took to its website to confirm that Martinez would in fact be joining the team.

"It's official that Angie Martinez will now join the Power 105.1 family for the afternoon drive weekdays 2-6pm," the site says.

Reports say that her new show will be simulcast on sister Clear Channel station 103.5 FM The Beat in Miami. It is also expected Clear Channel may later put her on other hip-hop and urban stations.

Martinez seems thrilled about her next venture.

"I'm excited to join Power 105.1 in New York and The Beat in Miami and expand my brand even further in the coming months," she said.

Hot 97 has not yet removed Martinez's profile from their website. On it, they call her the reigning queen of Hip Hop radio.

No specific details or launch date have been announced.
