The drama continues between formerly engaged couple Ciara and Future. The two have found themselves in the middle of an ongoing legal battle with Ciara suing the rapper for defamation and Future now counter-suing claiming the singer and her career are "washed up" and she's only suing him to add life to her career.
A Jasmine Brand report has revealed that Future is firing back at the mother of his now one-year-old son, Baby Future, after she filed a defamation case against him. According to the site, Future, real name Nayvadius Wilburn, is counter-suing Ciara's $15 million lawsuit claiming that the singer's album sales have been suffering and her career is washed up, so suing him is her way of generating publicity for her suffering career.
Future is requesting that the Jackie singer cover the cost of his legal fees that have accumulated since she first filed the lawsuit back in January according to EUR.
Though Ciara has moved on with her love life and is currently engaged to NFL player Russell Wilson, the singer still notably carries a bit of resentment toward the father of her child which was evident during her recent announcements of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards nominees.
EUR reported how during the taping of the Good Morning America nominees reveal, Ciara was to announce the names of those listed in the Top Rap Artist catergory. When the time came for her to announce the father of her son, Ciara went mute, leaving her co-host, Ludacris, with the responsibility of announcing the rapper's name.
Future has often expressed his discontent with Ciara and how she is choosing to raise their son. His past comments during interviews and on his social media accounts prompted the defamation lawsuit filed by the "I Bet" singer according to EUR.
