America's Got Talent is a television series NBC that features the absolute best of the best from all aspects of awesomeness. Seriously, the show has featured so many different types of people like singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, and many more. And when the grand prize is One Million Dollars, who wouldn't want their chance to compete?
The show, which was created by Simon Cowell, has been around since 2006 and has featured many different judges. Some of the judges that have been on the show are David Hasselhoff, Brandy Norwood, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, Howard Stern and Nick Cannon just to name a few.
The show is currently in their twelfth season and the judges for this season are Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell. Now back in the ninth season of America's Got Talent, the show introduced the Golden Buzzer. The Golden Buzzer is on the judge's desk and a judge or the host can hit the buzzer only once per season. Nowadays, if a contestant is lucky enough to receive the Golden Buzzer, they automatically advance to the live show!
And now let's talk about the current season and the super talented singer that is stealing the show. Mandy Harvey is a 29 year old singer that lost her hearing when she was 18:
"I lost all my hearing when I was 18 years old. So basically I got sick, and my nerves deteriorated."
And for someone who had been singing since the age of 4, that was very tough for Mandy.
“I left music after I lost my hearing, and figured out how to get back into singing with muscle memory, using visual tuners and trusting my pitch.”
So after a quick introduction, the singer took off her shoes to help her feel the music’s rhythm through the floor, and began to perform her original song "Try." And Mandy delivered quite the amazing performance, leaving not one dry eye left in the building. And the icing on the cake was that none-other than Simon Cowell used his Season 12 Golden Buzzer on her!
