The Weeknd just dropped his latest album, My Dear Melancholy. The 28-year-old singer's latest project features six new songs.

My Dear Melancholy was executive produced by Weeknd and Frank Dukes. It also features the singer's two collaborations with Gesaffelstein. Other collaborators include Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Skrillex, Daheala, Marz, Cirkut, and Mike WiLL Made-It.

Weeknd's newest album is a follow up to his 2016 hit project Starboy. The compilation earned him a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Urban Album. Some of the songs included in Starboy are "Party Monster," "False Alarm," "Reminder," "Rockin'," "Secrets," "True Colors," "Stargirl Interlude," "Sidewalks," "Six Feet Under," "Love to Lay," "A Lonely Night," "Attention," and "Ordinary Life."

Prior to the release of My Dear Melancholy, Weeknd teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for the Black Panther soundtrack "Pray For Me." He also contributed to Trouble's Edgewood mixtape in the song "Come Thru."

The Weeknd Gets Candid About Drugs

In 2016, Weeknd talked about his personal life and admitted to struggling with drugs in the past.

"When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy. Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling - whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. I can't see myself doing that now," said Weeknd.

The 28-year-old singer also said that it was only with drugs that he felt like himself. When asked if he ever considered getting treatment, Weeknd said no.

"Definitely not. I think that's more when you're privileged, you know? Going to a therapist is not something you do when you're growing up as a street kid in Toronto," said the singer.

He also revealed that "Can't Feel My Face," one of his most famous songs, somehow centered on his drug use. The line "Can't feel my face" was written because it was an effect he experienced while taking drugs.

"I'll be completely honest with you. The past couple of albums, I do get back to that. Even on this new album. You have writer's block. And sometimes you're like, I can't do this sober," explained Weeknd.
