Composer Ramin Djawadi covers Wu-Tang Clan's hit song "C.R.E.A.M." His rendition was featured in Westworld season 2, episode 5 called "The Riddle of the Sphinx."

A Fitting Hymn

C.R.E.A.M. which is an acronym for Cash Rules Everything Around Me seems like the perfect anthem for Westworld where the company Delos will do anything to satisfy the wishes of their paying customers.

An over one-minute audio of Djawadi's Wu-Tang Clan cover uploaded on YouTube received over 141,000 views. Djawadi's recent cover of "C.R.E.A.M." was not his first for a television show in the United States. The Iranian-German composer also scored for HBO's Game of Thrones.

The composer's rendition borrowed instruments from traditional Japanese music. It is also a stripped down version of Wu-Tang Clan's classic rap track. The music played during Akane's (Rinko Kikuchi) dance scene with a shogun.

Djawadi's cover works on multiple levels because Wu-Tang Clan has always been fascinated with East Asian culture. So playing a toned-down version of "C.R.E.A.M" in the beautiful scene gave it more depth and meaning.

"C.R.E.A.M." is included in the New York hip-hop group's 1993 album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

Wu Tang-Clan's $1 Million Lawsuit

In related news, Wu-Tang Clan also made headlines last month after the cover art photographer for Once Upon A Time in Shaolin claimed that did not get paid for the work he did for the group.

Warren Patterson spent 80 hours at work between 2013 and 2014 while shooting photos of a silver case with the Wu-Tang Clan logo on it. Patterson revealed that he did not sign a contract with the group, but he was disappointed to see that they used his work on the band's album cover art.

"The infringing copies of the Plaintiff's works [were] delivered to a law office in New York County, New York by mail or courier service to be picked up by a purchaser named Martin Shkreli," read that court documents.

Patterson was asking for a $1 million settlement for the damages incurred.

However, Method Man's rep clarified that the Wu-Tang Clan member did not authorize the use of Patterson's work on the band's album cover art.

RZA Tries To Buy Back Wu-Tang Clan's Album

RZA, another member of the group also revealed that he tried to buy the original Once Upon A Time in Shaolin record from Shkreli. However, he was unable to do so.

"I've actually tried to get it back, but the paperwork and the contract stops me from getting it back. When Shkreli put it on eBay, the first thing I did was call my lawyer and I was like, 'Yo, let's go.' And they said, 'Alright, check your contract.' And it's no, you can't do it," said RZA.
