Foo Fighters might need a long break as the members continue to grieve after losing Taylor Hawkins.

What was supposed to be Foo Fighters' grand appearance and performance at the Grammy Awards instantly disappeared following Hawkin's death. The rock band is currently up for three awards - Best Rock Performance for "Making a Fire," Best Rock Song for "Waiting on a War," and Best Rock Album for "Medicine at Midnight."

But following their drummer's death, the band decided to cancel their highly-anticipated Grammy performance, as reported by Rolling Stone.

Despite their absence, Grammy Awards confirmed that it would feature a tribute to Hawkins during Sunday's event.

CBS' executive vice president of specials, music, and live events, Jack Sussman told Variety, "We will honor his memory in some way. We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved. We're patient. We'll be planning right up until the very end."

Foo Fighters Also Canceled Tour Dates

Aside from missing the Grammys, Foo Fighters also canceled their upcoming tours as they continue to grieve Hawkins.

"We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together," they said.

More musicians and members of the music industry also expressed their heartbreak, including Mick Jagger, Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Morello, Questlove, Stevie Nicks, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, and Axl Rose, to name a few.

The 50-year-old drummer died while the band was on tour in South America. They were scheduled to perform at Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia, at the time of his death.

Associated Press revealed that the Bogota municipal government confirmed that the city's emergency services received a call about a patient suffering from chest pain. Ambulances arrived at the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel, where the responders tried to resuscitate Hawkins.

Unfortunately, they were not able to bring him back and pronounced his death.

The Attorney General of Columbia disclosed that at least 10 substances were detected in Hawkins' system, including opioids, benzodiazepines, and antidepressants. The department pledged to continue its investigation to determine Taylor Hawkins' cause of death.

Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that his heart weighed at least 600 grams - which was heavier than the average of 300 to 350 pounds.
