Samuel Thomas Fender, more commonly known as Sam Fender, was born in North Shields, England, on Apr. 25, 1994.

Fender's music career started when he was still ten years old when he learned to play guitar, which also became one of his instruments to date, as per The Sun.

Sam's brother introduced him to Bruce Springsteen and Jeff Buckley, which were among his biggest musical influences - and he began to write songs at the age of fourteen.

After performing at a pub in 2013, Ben Howard's manager, Owain Davies, took him in as a client.

Four years later, Fender released his first single, "Play God," in 2017, which was then later used in the "FIFA 19" video game.

Sam Fender's career started picking up, and he made the BBC's Sound of 2018 shortlist with now pop heavyweights Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi, Khalid, and Sigrid,

Afterwards, he made a breakthrough with his now-Ivor Novello nominated song "Dead Boys." He also released his first EP with the same name later that year.

His debut album in 2019, "Hypersonic Missiles," further solidified his name in the British Music Scene as it debuted at the No. 1 spot on the UK Albums Chart.
