Despite performing in front of thousands of crowds in concerts, Neil Giraldo reveals he always preferred being low-key as he doesn't like the attention on him. However, since he's being inducted at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he doesn't mind sharing the spotlight with his wife, Pat Benatar.

According to Billboard, the singer said it's a great honor to be recognized for his hard work in the music industry.

Throughout the decades, he's been his wife's writing partner, primary producer, songwriter, bandleader, and guitarist.

"Every time we talk to somebody, they always focus on the personal side, so nobody really knows our professional partnership in detail," he said.

Ever since entering the industry, Giraldo said he did everything with Benatar, and they spent countless hours inside a recording studio.

He also looked back at the time when he first met his wife, saying she wanted to sing and was looking for a partner to "do the rest."

"I was happy just to do everything I could to write and produce great records. It was a match made in heaven," he added.

Giraldo went on to reveal that telling the true story behind their careers, which will be publicized before the Rock Hall induction, is really important for them.

In a separate interview, Benatar revealed she's been campaigning for her husband for years to "get the credit he's due" for her success.

The singer has achieved five platinum albums, 15 top 40 Billboard Hot 100 singles, and countless awards.

She also wanted to credit Giraldo for her role in breaking down barriers for women in rock music.

During their conversation, the guitarist insisted that he wished he could stay in the studio and "not have to come out of it," to which his wife replied, "you have to come along with me."

Many fans have been rallying for Benatar to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame throughout the years. She's been eligible since the early 2000s, but she only got nominated in 2020.

Their nomination might be long overdue, but they finally succeeded as the duo amassed a whopping 631,299 public fan votes, making them the third-highest voted music acts among the nominees per the Rock Hall.
