Bad news for Journey fans, the band recently announced that a member tested positive for COVID-19, and it seems like they won't be pushing through the rest of their upcoming shows; what is the future of their highly-anticipated Freedom Tour?

Taking to their social media accounts, the group issued a statement saying a member tested positive for COVID-19, forcing them to postpone the last four shows of their tour.

Fortunately for fans, the canceled performances will be rescheduled at a later date, and they will be announcing it on their website soon.

In the meantime, the band is asking concertgoers to hold onto their tickets.

The postponed dates are as follows:

  • May 10 - Capital One Arena in Washington, DC
  • May 11 - XL Center in Hartford, CT
  • May 13 - Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON
  • May 16 - Videotron Centre in Quebec, QC

As of this writing, Journey has not revealed which member tested positive for the virus.

Current members include Arnel Pineda, Deen Castronovo, Jason Derlatka, Jonathan Cain, and Neal Schon.

Many fans took to the reply section following their announcement to send their well-wishes to the band.

"Sending the best to everyone in the band and may he get well soon. No joke Covid is real, exists today, & is being ignored by everyone foolishly," another wrote.

Journey's 'Freedom Tour' Featuring Toto

According to Ultimate Rock Classic, the group began performing for their "Freedom Tour" in February at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

The original leg was scheduled for more than 40 dates across North America.

Famed rock band Toto has opened for the band for the past 38 shows. Guitarist Steve Lukather previously expressed his dismay by writing a letter through their official website.

"Our appearances in DC and Hartford have been cancelled. It has been an incredible experience to stage the 38 shows we've performed with Journey across the United States Nothing short of a total blast," he penned.

The musician also noted that he's grateful to the band, crew, venue operators, and AEG. He also expressed his gratitude to fans who attended their previous performances.

After their North American leg, Toto will part ways and perform on their scheduled tour dates overseas.

On the other hand, Journey will be embarking on another tour across the United States starting this July.
