Some of the most successful songs from Taylor Swift's "Folklore" and "Evermore" albums wouldn't be successful without the help of her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, as he is credited as one of the songwriters, but he was using a pseudonym; what was his inspiration behind the alias?

In a recent interview on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," the actor finally revealed the truth behind his chosen name to write some of his girlfriend's most iconic lyrics.

Alwyn said they chose to have a pseudonym because they wanted fans to listen to music first before dissecting the tracks they did together.

"We did it under the name William Bowery... Very fancy. It sounds like a kind of Agatha Christie character that should be wearing a monocle with a big mustache," he joked. (via Rolling Stone)

He then broke down the meaning of his alias, saying, "William" was the name of his great-grandfather who was a composer that wrote many classical music and film scores.

The "Bowery" was derived from the area in New York that he spent a lot of time in when he first moved into the Big Apple.

In total, Alwyn AKA Bowery has written "Exile" and "Betty" on "Folklore," and "Champagne Problems," "Evermore" and "Coney Island" from "Evermore.

In addition, he co-produced six songs from the first album.

This was not the first time the Grammy Award-winning songwriter discussed his music relation to Swift, as he opened up about how he ended up writing for his girlfriend's music.

In an interview with GQ Hype earlier this month, Alwyn said his songwriting credit was "the most accidental thing to happen in lockdown."

The actor explained he was messing around on a piano while singing badly; he later wondered if they tried to "get to the end of it together."

"It was fun to do together, and I was proud of it. It was nice getting such a positive reception," he added.

Swift also opened up about his boyfriend's music skills during the "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" documentary, saying he asked Alwyn if they could write "Betty" together.

"Folklore" and "Evermore" became two of Taylor Swift's most-recognized albums in recent years as they received several nominations and nods from prestigious award-giving bodies.

"Evermore's" latest nod was during this year's Grammy Awards, where it got nominated for Album of The Year.
