The family of Elvis Presley is dissatisfied with the latest Baz Luhrman biopic.

The King of Rock and Roll's mother's side family has lately attacked the film and admitted they are deeply outraged by way they have been portrayed.

"Elvis" arrives in theaters this week, portraying the story of a Tupelo, Mississippi, youngster who rose to become the world's biggest performer.

Austin Butler plays the lead and has already gotten compliments for his performance.

However, the guy who drove an adolescent Elvin from Tupelo to Memphis and spent 34 years with him has trashed the Baz Luhrman film.

Billy Smith is Elvis Presley's mother's side cousin. Travis, Gladys' brother's kid, stated he grew up with Elvis and eventually resided behind Graceland, becoming a key member of the Memphis Mafia.

Just hours before his death, he and his wife Jo were playing racquetball with the singer-songwriter and listening to him sing while playing the piano.

Billy and Jo criticized the movie creators in a recent post for how they were treated during the film's production, promotion, and premieres, despite the fact that they were around Elvis more than anybody else in his life aside from father Vernon.

According to Express, they were responding to a post by Elvis' former long-term lover Linda Thompson, who complained about how many individuals were left out of the film - people who were "important and vital in Elvis' life."

She went on to explain that no amount of inclusions or omissions in any film will ever undo the crucial part she played in her former lover's life and him in hers.

"But every fan knows that," she said, "and I wouldn't call it a biopic."

"It's a pity so many folks were left out," Billy remarked, agreeing with Linda.

Billy and Jo are frequently featured on their son Danny's YouTube channel, but they also have their own Facebook page, "Elvis Fans Matter."

"I am quite angry that Billy and I were not invited to the premiere, but I believe we are not sophisticated enough to be included, as were other members of Elvis' friends and family who were also left out," Jo stated in the post.

Fans rushed to defend the pair, calling the movie executives' actions "hurtful and nasty," while another stated that if Elvis were still alive, he "wouldn't be experiencing this right now."

"This is so disrespectful on so many levels."
