The next Elvis Presley biopic opens in a few days, but according to director Baz Luhrmann, audiences will not get the complete tale.

He admitted that he left out a lot of information regarding the life of the King of Rock and Roll.

"Elvis" biopic will portray how the singer soared to popularity and flew dangerously close to the sun before succumbing to drink and drugs.

However, there is still more to the story.

According to Luhrmann who spoke to Radio Times, there are many footage that fans will never see. The film was originally four hours long, but was trimmed to two and a half hours.

When asked why he cut it down, the film expert explained, "I would have liked to lean into some of the other things more. there's so much more."

He went on to say that some of the clips regarding Elvis' life featured information about his connection with the band, including some crucial aspects concerning their departure from the star's lineup.

"It's so interesting how the Colonel gets rid of them."

The sequence with Elvis and his first fiancée was also deleted from the final version. Throughout his life, the singer-songwriter was involved in several romances and love affairs, none of which are included in the Elvis biography.

Other scenes cut from the film depicted Elvis being hooked to barbiturates and doing "wackadoo" things like visiting President Nixon.

Luhrmann explained why these weren't added by saying, "There just comes the point where you can't have everything in, so I just tried to track the character's spirit."

Ann-Margaret, whom Elvis Presley met on the set of his film "Viva Las Vegas," is one essential fact left out of the entire film.

They had been having an affair for nearly a year without Elvis' wife, Priscilla Presley, knowing. Priscilla eventually discovered the truth and insisted that her husband divorce Ann-Margaret.

Fans should not give up hope, though, because expanded edits have been included in previously issued DVD and Blu-ray supplements.

Larger productions, like as Zack Snyder's "Justice League," have even had fresh theatrical releases in theaters and on streaming sites.

Fans may be able to see a four-hour version of the "Elvis" biopic, but they will have to wait until an announcement is made.
