Kelly Clarkson is preparing to release new music - slowly but surely. But the process is being complicated by her divorce with Brandon Blackstock. For most musicians, such a period in their lives sometimes can help with the writing of new music, since it provides for new material, but for Clarkson, it is easier said than done.

As an artist who has always worn her heart on her sleeve, she claims she is unsure of how much information to share with her followers following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

"It's been the hardest thing to navigate," she said this during the the June 29 episode of The Global Chart Show with Brooke Reese. "I've never had this difficult of a project. It's one of those things where I'm a human and I'm going through something huge. Obviously, everybody knows, like, a big, huge divorce I went through."

In addition, she shared that she has to consider River, 8, and Remington, 6, as well as Blackstock's two children from a previous marriage when deciding on how much to say (or sing). She revealed that the dynamic is very different and it is not easy to just let all her emotions pour into her music, as other people can get hurt.

For Clarkson, writing has always been her outlet. "I mean I have to be completely honest," she continued, "but that's a hard thing to navigate, right? Because it's in the public eye, and there's other people involved."

Therefore, she is still determining which songs to include on her future album. The three-time Grammy winner remarked that it will come the moment she gets her act together.

In order to safeguard their family's privacy, the American Idol alum and talent manager have spoken little about their divorce since filing in June 2020.

"My children and his older children-there are a lot of little hearts involved in this and while people feel, 'Oh my gosh, what a loss ...' imagine how it is in the epicenter of the storm," Clarkson, who finalized her divorce in March, previously told the Los Angeles Times. "It's a lot to process and deal with, just as a family. So because it's not just me, I probably won't go too deep with it."

After all, they have walked in their children's shoes. On an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show airing in September 2020, Clarkson stated that separating with one's spouse or divorce is never easy but as adults coming from their respectively split homes, they knew the wisest decision is to just protect their children's still tender hearts.
