One of the most-awaited scenes in Stranger Things Season 4 was Joseph Quinn's character's guitar solo in the upside-down dimension.

A brief snippet of the scene was flashed on the official trailer for season 4. Since then, fans of the Duffer Brothers Netflix hit have been itching to know what Eddie Munson was blasting on his electric guitar.

Now that the last two episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 are finally out on Netflix, everyone was more than delighted to know what song Eddie Munson played.

Stranger Things Feature Metallica's 'Master of Puppets'

Joseph Quinn's character Eddie Munson was a new addition to the Hawkins gang on Stranger Things Season 4.

The eccentric Hellfire Club leader became a fan favorite after the first two episodes of the fourth season. However, in true Duffers Brother fashion, where they take out fan favorites at the end of the season - and this time, Quinn's character Eddie literally made the cut.

But before his heroic and tragic demise, Quinn's performance at the top of his trailer in the upside-down was one of the best moments of the season; some fans claim it even in the entire show.

Contrary to fan theories circulating all over social media before the release of volume 2, it was not Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill - it was actually Metallica's 1986 hit Master of Puppets.

The use of the Metallica classic on Stranger Things was perfectly fitting as the song is something that Quinn's character Eddie seemed to be listening to on a daily basis.

Quinn's guitar solo has delighted rock and heavy metal fans of the show.

"Yup, 'Master of Puppets' is indeed in the season finale. But my god was it used brilliantly. I've been waiting for this show to really use Metallica and not just kinda have it in the background," the Redditor explained.

"You can't have a piece of entertainment that's set in an '80s time-frame and not play Metallica. They definitely did the song justice. Big congrats to Metallica! I'm 100 percent certain 'MoP' is gonna have a massive resurgence," the post continued.

Just like Kate Bush's 1985 hit, streaming activity and probably album and track sales for Master of Puppets are projected to surge in the coming days, considering the scene was one of the most awaited the entire season.

Metallica's Master of Puppets is not the only rock metal song played on Stranger Things Season 4 - hits from Journey, KISS, and The Beach Boys are also featured.
