With the release of "Staying Alive," Drake became the artist with the most top five hits in Billboard Hot 100 history. This is his 30th top five hit, Billboard reported.

Chart Toppers of Billboard's Hot 100

The "Jimmy Cooks" rapper surpassed The Beatles' 29 top five hits, a record they have held on to for 55 years-it was a feat. The Beatles claimed 55 years out of Billboard Hot 100's 64-year history.

Following Drake and The Beatles is Madonna with 28 top 5 hits, Mariah Carey with 27, Janet Jackson with 26, Rihanna with 23, and Elvis with 21. Sharing a spot with 20 top fives are Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Bieber.

The Beatles still holds the title with the most number one singles of all time, followed by Mariah Carey and Elvis with 20, 19, and 18, respectively.

"Staying Alive" Stayed Alive

The song in question, "Staying Alive" is a track out of DJ Khaled's new album "God Did," it features Drake and Lil Baby.

"Staying Alive" is an interpolation of Bee Gee's iconic disco song 'Stayin' Alive."  The Gibb brothers were given credit as lyricists and composers, reports say.

The Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" peaked at 59 on Billboard Hot 100 all-time chart, and was included in Rolling Stone's "The 100 Best Singles of the Last 25 Years," 1989 edition and "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time," 2004 edition.

Perhaps DJ Khaled's "Staying Alive" might follow its predecessor's footsteps and land itself a spot in one of Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs Of All Time lists.

For now, however, it is ranked the top song on Billboard, enjoying over 10 million views on YouTube as of this writing.

How Billboard Keeps Track

The way Billboard ranks the songs has changed over time, given the innovations in music streaming in recent years. According to Billboard, they found that measuring the popularity of individual songs has worked best for them.

In previous years, that entailed radio airplay and single purchases. It eventually included digital streaming as well. These new developments in streaming helped Drake earn his spot at the top of the Billboard charts.
