The Knowles sisters prove yet again that their musical talent and prowess are unmatched. While Beyoncé was busy dropping "Renaissance," Solange was busy composing a score for the New York City Ballet (NYCB). 

In a press release on Aug 15, the NYCB announced they had tapped Solange for the commission of the score. According to reports, her piece was composed for a chamber ensemble, which will be performed by "some of the composer's frequent musical collaborators."

Premier Date and Details

The piece, yet to be given a title, will be choreographed by Gianna Reisen. It is set to premiere on Sept 23 at the City Ballet's tenth Fall Fashion Gala at the Lincoln Center. 

The costumes that Solange and Reisen's show will boast creations from Spanish designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo, reports say. The Gala is intended for choreographers and designers to come together and create art. 

Following the premiere, it will run on Oct. 1, 8, 11, and 16, and then the following year on May 2, 11, 13, 17, and 18.

Solange has been seen dipping her toes into the performance art scene. In 2017, her piece "An Ode To" was performed at the Guggenheim. Her 2019 piece "Bridge-s" was performed at Getty Center in Los Angeles. 

This will mark Grammy Award-winning singer's return to music since 2019, and her first composition for ballet. Meanwhile, this will mark Reisen's third work for the City Ballet. She was the company's youngest choreographer in 2017. 

Solange Knowles, or just Solange, is a multi-awarded singer, songwriter, and performance artist. She has also done some acting throughout the years.

She began her music career in 2001, and by the age of 14, she was already working on her solo debut studio album, "Solo Star." 

In 2017, Solange won her first Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance for "Cranes in the Sky." In addition to her Grammy, Solange also bagged a BET, Webby, and Soul Train Music Award, among others. 

She was the first-ever recipient of the Billboard Women in Music Impact Award; and Woman of the Year from the Glamour Award in 2017.

She is also into visual and performance art, showcasing her art at the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Getty Museum in 2019. In 2017, her art was shown at the Guggenheim Museum and Chinati Foundation in 2017.
