"I am giving you part of my heart and soul. Gloria got me through some dark times and was a beacon for me in my life," they added.

According to a press release published by Capitol Records, the record, which was recorded in Jamaica, London, and Los Angeles, would be "emotional, sexual, and spiritual liberation."

For Smith, it feels like it was their first record ever as they sang freely throughout the album. Aside from being a personal project, the album would also see the singer explore their creative outlet as a celebrated artist.

The songs would tackle a wide range of topics from sex, imperfection, passion, self-expression, contemporary narratives, and many more.

This was not the first time Smith had spoken about their new album as they previously discussed it in an interview, saying the next project would be their first "non-heartbreak" record as they are popularly known for sad hit songs like "Lay Me Down," "I'm Not The Only One," "Stay With Me," and many more.

Regarding collaborations, the Academy Award-winning singer previously released a single titled "Unholy" with Kim Petras which is considered to be one of the biggest hits of 2022 as it became popular on social media, especially on TikTok.

It continues to dominate charts as well as amassing more than 300 million combined streams from all over the world.
