Creed singer Scott Stapp has a newfound job: being a meme.

In the past years, Stapp has been the subject of hilarious memes based on the way he sings the songs. Most photos have the texts like "Werth erms werd erpen" and "Well err jurs hurd the nurs turdurr," copying his singing style.

Addressing the memes, Stapp recently appeared on Theo Von's "This Past Weekend" show where he expressed how much he loves being a meme rather than calling out people for making fun of him.

Stapp noted that there was a time his son and nephew laughed and giggled while he was driving them somewhere in the past.

When he asked them why they were laughing, the two continuously chuckled instead.

"Then I hear (Stapp imitates the kids imitating his singing) 'With arms wide opennnnnn...' and then my nephew just busts out laughing. And then my own son (Jagger,) who I wrote the song about, is makin' fun of me mimicking my voice," he said.

The Creed singer then said that he feels glad to become part of such memes that his daughter now wants to wear Creed shirts when going to school.

Scott Stapp's Memes Bring Positive Effect to Creed

Instead of feeling mad, Stapp said being a meme led people to get to know more about Creed's songs.

Stapp and Creed dominated the scene in the 1990s through the hit songs "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." He also became famous for the way he overenunciated his songs' lyrics.

In 2020, he sat down for an interview with The Ringer's "10 Questions With Kyle Brandt," revealing that the criticism helped him grow as a singer instead.

As quoted by Consequence Sound, the crooner noted how funny it is to hear how other people hear him. It also helped him as a singer as he found out the consistent pattern he had as he intentionally enunciated the words.

With the memes, Stapp said he became a better singer.

His voice has also been bringing fun to his family, especially his singing style in "With Arms Wide Open." In fact, that song gave birth to his son and nephew's joke about "Mcdonald's Wide Open" whenever they pass the fast food restaurant on the road.
