Jeremiah Green, the drummer for Modest Mouse, has been told he has stage four cancer.

The 45-year-old musician is one of the group's co-founders.

Along with bassist Eric Judy and lead singer Isaac Brock, he started the band in 1993. His mother, Carol Namatame, wrote an emotional Facebook post on Christmas Day, December 25, 2012, to tell everyone the news.

She asked people to "please send healing vibes for my son" because he has "stage 4 cancer" and is "struggling with it." She also said that he is so brave and strong to keep going. On his own Facebook page, veteran radio DJ Marco Collins also posted the news. He wrote that he just heard that my friend Jeremiah Green from Modest Mouse has pulled out of the band's tour because he is getting chemo for Stage 4 cancer. Even though he is in stage 4, his outlook is good! His oncologist is a big fan of MM, so he has that going for him.

Even though Green had been on some of the band's recent tour dates, he couldn't make it to all of them because he was sick. Since the band started, he has been there almost all the time. The only time he wasn't there was between 2003 and 2004, which is why he wasn't on their album "Good News For People Who Love Bad News."

One of the last performances of the band has Modest Mouse playing in London during a heat wave that reached 40°C and was so bad that it was declared a national emergency. They are, after all, a band that has a lot of bad luck.

Even though they aren't known for how good they are live, they rise to the occasion. "Fuck Your Acid Trip" is more of an industrial-psych freak-out than "Campfire Dittie," which was on their most recent album "The Golden Casket." "King Rat," on the other hand, gives drummer Jeremiah Green a workout, even in this heat. And let's not talk about how Simon O'Connor, the guitarist, is wearing a hoodie.

Isaac Brock, who wore a boiler suit as part of his eccentric dad persona, tends to change the set list from show to show. However, moving from the upbeat optimism of "Float On" to the grimy dancefloor spasm of "Doin' The Cockroach" has proven to be a winning strategy, so he did it again here.
