With the death of Taylor Hawkins last year, one big question was on fans' minds - what's next for Foo Fighters?

It seems like the fans finally got a question because the band has recently made an announcement.

Taylor Hawkins Death in 2022

On March 25, 2022, band members announced Taylor Hawkins' death. He was fifty years of age.

During the South American leg of their global tour, he was discovered unconscious in his hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia.

A preliminary toxicology test revealed that the deceased drummer had 10 different narcotics in his blood when he passed away, according to Colombian officials.

Taylor allegedly had narcotics, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and marijuana in his system.

The US, UK, France, Australia, and Italy were among the countries where the Foo Fighters were set to appear on their sold-out global tour.

Late in March, after Taylor Hawkins' passing was reported, the whole world mourned and honored the Foo Fighters drummer.

Foo Fighters 2023 Update

Following the untimely passing of their drummer, the Foo Fighters made an emotional statement to their fans on Saturday, stating that they still want to tour.

The band said in the statement that they were established 27 years ago to stand for the "healing power of music and a continuance of life."

They claimed that their bandmates became a "devoted support system" that got them through their worst moments and that they express all of their feelings, including their hopes and concerns, via music.

Mentioning their late drummer, "Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were - and without Taylor, we know that we're going to be a different band going forward."

Foo Fighters then concluded their statement by saying, "We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we see you again - and we will soon - he'll be there in spirit with all of us every night."

Who Will Replace Taylor Hawkins on Foo Fighters?

As of this writing, Foo Fighters had not yet revealed Taylor Hawkins' replacement on the drums.

After stealing that one gig, his son, Shane Hawkins, could come at other events to show off the talent his father has given him and to suggest that he can carry on his father's legacy.

But because Shane is just 12 years old, the globe tour will undoubtedly have an adverse effect on both his physical and emotional health.

Fans of the Foo Fighters will simply have to wait and see.
