Jisoo is the last member of the girl music group, Blackpink, to possibly embark on a solo career. Jisoo has long hinted at the start of the previous year that she was planning to work on her solo debut album in 2022.
However, as 2022 progressed, Jisoo made a contrary statement, saying she wasn't sure how she would go about working on a solo album, as reported in an article in NME.com. As Jisoo answered fans' questions on Weverse just before 2022 ended, she seemingly confirmed that her debut solo album would drop in 2023.
Jisoo wrote, "Please wait for Jisoo's solo album in 2023." Meanwhile, YG Entertainment made a confirmation of the news by releasing a statement, saying:""BLACKPINK's Jisoo is currently working hard on recording her solo album. While carrying out a busy world tour schedule since last year, she finished the album jacket photo shoot and worked on music production whenever she got the time in order to keep the promise with fans. She will greet [fans] soon with good news."
