After starting his career in the 1980s as a member of Generation X, Idol went on to pursue his solo career. His contributions to the music industry finally led him to have a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In an official press release by Walk of Fame, it confirmed that Idol would be the first star to be honored with a star in 2023. The ceremony will be held on Jan. 5, with Shepard Fairey and Henry Rollins as the guest speakers.

Fans can watch Idol receive his new achievement at walkoffame.com beginning at 11:30 am PT that day.

Idol will be the 2,743rd star to have a star on the Walk of Fame since the honorary star distinction started giving a star in 1960. The singer's recognition, which will fall under the Recording category, will be placed in front of Amoeba Music located at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard.

Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said according to Loudwire, "There will be lots of rebels yelling for their favorite rock star Billy Idol when he receives his well-deserved Walk of Fame star on January 5th. Since the beginning of his career Billy Idol has held the hearts of many of his fans who finally will be able to visit his star and witness his induction into the Walk of Fame."

Although he is still far from reaching the billion mark, Billy Idol's net worth already surpassed the million mark. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the singer has an estimated $60 million net worth as of 2023.

Idol started playing guitar for Chelsea in 1976 before quitting and creating the new band, Generation X, with Chelsea's bass guitarist, Tony James.

With the band, the singer was able to release three albums: "Generation X," "Valley of the Dolls," and "Kiss Me Deadly."
