Just recently, Abela made quite a buzz on social media after the director shared a photo of her on it, showing that she's rocking the complete Amy Winehouse look with the late singer's signature hairstyle and accessories.

For starters, the actress is also English like the singer as she was born in Brighton, East Sussex on December 7, 1996. It appears that she has many similarities with Winehouse as she's also Jewish.

In a previous interview, the star said her parents came from different cultures as her father is a Maltese Arab while her mother is from a family of Polish Jewish refugees.

Regarding her education, Abela has an impressive background as she studied at one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she received a BA in Acting Degree.

The school has notable alumni who are also big in the industry like Cynthia Erivo, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and many more.

However, before rising to fame and heading to the path of acting, the actress initially wanted to be a human rights lawyer.

While scouting for universities around the United Kingdom, she was supposed to do "Histpry with a Law conversion," but it didn't interest her. Fortunately, her parents boosted her confidence and encouraged her to pursue acting.

"I think being a lawyer would be me rebelling... I think my way of rebelling was just pretending I was going to be a lawyer," she said in a previous interview.

Even though many people are only hearing about Abela today, she already has an impressive acting background after starring in several TV shows like "COBRA" and HBO's "Industry."

Aside from the biopic, the actress is also expected to appear in Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" movie along with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie.

As of this writing, production has not publicly announced an official release date for "Back to Black," but Elle Magazine reported that more details will be dropping soon once filming is done.
