Depeche Mode celebrated the life of one of its founding members, Andrew Fletcher in Los Angeles-the city that cemented them into one of the biggest bands in America.

"L.A. has been there for us from day one, really," said Dave Gahan, the lead vocalist and songwriter of the band.

For as long as the electronic band can remember, Los Angeles has always been that city for them, and what better way to celebrate their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction than to bring it to the city that made them huge?

It makes sense, especially given that Depeche Mode set a stunning record as the band that sold out a four-night run at the Hollywood Bowl-a feat that remains undefeated to this day.

However, aside from the festivities and the joyous occasion, the band is also mourning the loss of Andrew Fletcher, who passed away last year.

Tour Mode

According to Variety, despite being formed in Essex, England, Depeche Mode has never felt more at home than they do in Los Angeles.

They showed their appreciation ad love for the city through a setlist riddled with chart-topping hit and fan-favorite songs.

It included "My Cosmos Is Mine," "Wagging Tongue," "Walking in My Shoes," "It's No Good," "Sister of Night," "In Your Room," and "Everything Counts."

They also performed "Precious," "Speak to Me," "A Question of Lust," "Sould With Me," Ghosts Again," I Feel You," and "A Pain That I'm Used To."

Towards the end of their show, Depeche Mode plated "World In My Eyes," "Wrong," "Stripped," "John the Revelator," "Enjoy the Silence," "Condemnation," "Just Can't Get Enough," "Never Let ME Down Again," and "Personal Jesus."

Post Andy Fletcher

Fletcher served as Depeche Mode's keyboardist; he has been with the band since the day it was formed and his death caused them great devastation.

"With The Stones losing Charlie Watts, knowing about their longevity and how it's fucking hard work to keep a band going for that long, you realise how it's got to be losing an anchor," Gahan told NME about Fletcher's passing. "Fletch was part of what we knew as Depeche Mode for the last 40 years."

The keyboardist died in May 2022 because of an aortic dissection. According to The Guardian, that refers to a tear that occurred in Fletcher's main artery from his heart.
