Will Neil Turbin give Anthrax another shot decades after he was replaced?

Over Anthrax's decades-old career, the band already had several singers who played with the bandmates in its albums. Aside from Turbin, Dan Nelson and John Bush also fronted the band before Joey Belladonna took over.

Will Neil Turbin Return to Anthrax?

Speaking with Metal Musikast, Turbin shared his thoughts about having a one-off show with Anthrax alongside Belladonna and Bush. He explained that does not have the control to make such a decision and that he has not received an offer to do so.

But if he has, Turbin said he would not even consider it at all.

The singer went on to share another reason why a special concert would not be possible, citing Anthrax's issues with "economics and history."

"I highly doubt that they would pay anybody, let alone me, whom they didn't pay in the first place [when I was in the band]. What's gonna change, based on the history?" he continued. "If I look at the historic data, they wouldn't pay me. Even if it was something I should get paid for rightfully, they're not gonna pay me."

Turbin explained that the way he was treated and gaslighted made him not wish for a reunion or special concert with Anthrax. He also admitted to having bad feelings as he told the "truth."

He served as the band's first-ever frontman as he recorded Anthrax's debut LP, "Fistful of Metal," in 1984. However, he was replaced by Belladonna at that time before the now-frontman was replaced by Nelson and Bush until his return in 2010.

Anthrax's current lineup includes Belladonna, Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, and Jonathan Donais.

Anthrax's Reunion Approved by Scott Ian

Guitarist Scott Ian said in 2020 that a special celebratory tour featuring Turbin, Belladonna, and Ian would be possible only if everyone is alive and if they want it.

Although the thought crossed his mind, Ian expressed how playing with the singers who are no longer in the band became something he would not want to do.

Turbin recently marked the 40th anniversary of his Anthrax album during his three-date shows in Brazil.

Meanwhile, Anthrax toured in the US in January and February 2023 alongside Exodus and Black Label Society before dropping "XL," a full livestream setlist.
