Taylor Swift and The 1975 go way back. They have been seen supporting each other's music careers by wearing the others' graphic tees and performing in concerts, together.

So it is probably not that surprising when the pair have been finally linked romantically together-much to their fans' chagrin.

According to reports, the rumors have been swirling around for quite some time now, but it has not really reached mainstream until The Sun reported about it.

Rumors

A week ago, the celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi shared that an anonymous celebrity source confirmed the romance, which was set up by Jack Antonoff, a good friend and frequent collaborator of Swift.

"This comes from another celebrity who messaged me last weekend and said 'I had to tell you, I just heard that Tay Swift is already dating the lead singer of The 1975. Antonoff set it up," the gossip account said in their podcast.

The Sun, on the other hand, reported that the "Anti-Hero" singer and Healy rekindled a "very brief" flame that happened years back.

"It's super-early days, but it feels right," a source told The Sun. "They first dated, very briefly, almost 10 years ago but the timings just didn't work out."

'She's American'

Just like Swift, The 1975 is currently on the road for their "At Their Very Best" Tour.

The Sun's source commented on the current long-distance setup the rumored couple is working with: "Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it's been a lot of FaceTiming and texting but she cannot wait to see him again."

And while the rumors are in full swing, the UK-born singer apparently chose to perform "She's American" during one of his shows in Manila, Philippines, which only fueled and fanned the flames of the dating rumors.

"The timing. He's really teasing us!" A fan wrote about the performance.

"Miss Americana and..." another wrote, hinting that Healy is referencing Swift in his song choice, or perhaps her song "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince."

In addition to the eyebrow-raising song choice, many fans also joked about how "London Boy," a song from Swift's "Lover" album, can also be dedicated to Healy now.

"Matty Healy and Taylor Swift have the opportunity to do the funniest thing possible," a fan wrote, sharing a picture of The 1975' "She's American" next to Swift's "London Boy."
