It has been eight years since One Direction broke up, and six since Harry Styles embarked on his solo music career.

Let's walk down memory lane and look at how much has changed since the British singer released his debut self-titled album.

"Harry Styles" is Styles' first album as a solo artist, and it set the tone for his successful music career.

It was released on May 12, 2017, with the first single being "Sign of the Times," followed by "Two Ghosts" and "Kiwi."

Following its release, it quickly shot up at the top of music charts and was even certified platinum in Styles' home country, the United Kingdom, as well as the United States, Australia, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Denmark, and Poland.

'Sign of the Times'

Upon the release of "Harry Styles," the singer was highly praised and regarded in the music industry.

It was his first release, which made it quite daunting, however, Styles is no stranger to the limelight and knowing exactly what music he wants.

In an interview, Styles explained that he was heavily influenced by different eras in music like the 60s, 70s, 80's, and 90s, "I'm not saying I wish I lived back then. I wanted to do something that sounds like me."

AllMusic rated the album three and a half stars, while The Guardian, NME,and The Independent gave it three.

It received better marks from Rolling Stone and the Los Angeles Times; both rated it four stars.

Six Years Later

If there was one thing Styles' album did, it was to set the tone for his future endeavors.

The British singer quickly became a fan favorite. He has since released two more albums, "Fine Line" in 2019 and the Grammy Award-winning album "Harry's House" in 2022.

The most recent release won Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammy Awards, as well as Best Pop Vocal Album. At the Birts Awards, on the other hand, it bagged British Album of the Year.

Other than his flourishing music career, Styles has been doing some acting gigs on the side.

According to reports, following his small role in "Dunkirk," Styles took the lead role in "Don't Worry Darling" and "My Policeman"

Aside from acting, it seems like the "As It Was" singer will also have a comic book that will chronicle his biggest accomplishments and rise to fame.
