Would have Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley's marriage lasted longer if they had a child together?

Jackson and Presley became the hottest couple during the 1990s when they got married years after their brief, first meeting at a Las Vegas concert. While the late King of Pop was dealing with several speculations, including sexual abuse, he also reached his marriage's rock bottom when his then-wife filed for divorce.

Why Michael Jackson, Lisa Marie Presley Never Had a Child Revealed

Years before Presley died in January, she revealed in an interview the reason why she and Jackson decided not to have children when they got married. When they tied the knot, she already shares two children - Riley and Benjamin - with her first husband, Danny Keough.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the late "Lights Out" singer revealed that the King of Pop wanted them to have babies together, but the idea reportedly worried her, especially after seeing his alleged manipulations toward his staff and team.

According to Presley, she was able to see Jackson's true colors after witnessing his behavior.

"I did want to, but I just wanted to make sure," she said. "I was looking into the future and thinking, 'I don't ever want to get into a custody battle with him.'"

Due to their disagreement, the "Smooth Criminal" hitmaker reportedly threatened her he would have children with Debbie Rowe instead even when they were still married.

Lisa Marie Presley Discovered More About Michael Jackson

As the marriage continued, Elvis Presley's daughter got the chance to learn more about Jackson, including his substance abuse and erratic behavior.

These issues led her to file for divorce in 1995 and finalized their separation the following year.

Indeed, two months after they parted ways, Jackson and his former nurse Debbie Rowe announced their pregnancy. It did not surprise Presley since, aside from her ex-husband saying he would do it, she reportedly knew that the two were communicating when they were still married.

She told Winfrey how Rowe had been there telling Jackson she would have his child instead and how she felt disposable whenever he used the former nurse against her.

In addition, Presley shared her final conversation with the "Thriller" singer, during which he reportedly asked her whether she still loved him - to which she responded that Jackson was indifferent.
