Metallica's M72 world tour in North America had been long scheduled, but the rockers have more surprises to fans as they announced a "takeover" that would feature several activities that concertgoers could do on the day of the concert.

According to Blabbermouth, the band will be performing for two nights in each city included in their tour dates across the United States and Canada starting this August.

In a statement posted on their official Instagram account, the band said they couldn't wait to kick off the festivities in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 4 and since they will be in town for more than one day, they need to "make a weekend out of it."

"we've got details for you on many of the takeover activities as the tour travels across the country this summer and fall," they added.

Aside from the concerts, the band will be hosting film festivals, pop-up stores, book signings by Ross Halfin, and many more.

"On each Saturday between the two 'No Repeat' weekend shows, there will be film fests, pop-up stores, Ross Halfin book signings, AWMH-sponsored opportunities to give back, and so much more. And let's not forget live music!" they added.

There will also be live performances by Metallica descendants BASTARDANE (featuring James Hetfield's son Castor Hetfield) and OTTTO (featuring Tye Trujillo's son Robert Trujillo).

Sandman, Motorbreath, and Damage Inc. would also be included in the lineup.

Metallica M72 Tour North America

The M72 world tour began earlier this year across Europe. The current series of concerts by Metallica is a unique take as they have two completely different setlists and special guests on each day. An estimated 30 songs are being played each night and all of them came from the decades-long music catalog of the group.

Aside from the legendary metal band, supporting acts include Mammoth WVH, Epica, Floor Jansen, Greta Van Fleet, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Architects, Ice Nine Kills, and Pantera.

In addition to big surprises, there will also be "enhanced experiences" for fans as there will be access to meet-and-greet, tours around the stage and production, food and beverages in the "black box" lounge, and many more.

For those who wanted to attend the events mentioned above, tickets and complete information are available on Metallica's official website.
