Many fans have been looking forward to seeing Jimmy Buffett perform live at this year's Summerfest, but it appears that they won't see him anytime soon as the musician canceled his appearance and was replaced by a different musical act; was it because of his health struggles?

In a statement issued by the event, Summerfest organizers revealed that indie band AJR will be the one taking the singer's slot for his July 6 show at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

"Previously, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band were scheduled for July 6, but that show has been canceled, due to circumstances out of our control," they added. (via TMJ 4)

As of this writing, the musician's team has yet to share an official announcement regarding the cancelation and the main reason behind his absence remains unknown.

However, there have been speculations that the singer's cancelation was due to his health problems as he was hospitalized last month.

Jimmy Buffett Hospitalized

According to CBS News, Buffett postponed his concert at Credit One Stadium in Charleston on May 20 after he had been hospitalized following a trip to the Bahamas.

In a social media post, the legendary entertainer shared details regarding his condition, saying he had to stop in Boston for a check-up, however, he didn't expect that he was going to be admitted to the hospital.

Although he didn't mention his exact medical problem, he told fan that doctors need to "address some issues that needed immediate attention" regarding his health.

It seems like Jimmy Buffett keeps on fighting as he promised fans that he will go back on stage once he's well enough.

"Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, 'NOT YET!'," he concluded.

Jimmy Buffett 'Health Issues'

The most recent hospitalization was not his first one as he also recovered from "health issues" back in September 2022.

At the time, the musician was forced to cancel two shows of his fall tour dates and postponed three scheduled dates. (via San Diego Union Tribune)

In an announcement made by his representatives, Buffett was "on doctor's orders" and must heal from what he had been feeling at the time; his exact medical condition was not publicly revealed.
