A new development on Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' case has emerged - and it's going to be a "dogfight."

Joe Jonas' lawyers said that they wouldn't want the divorce case to be settled in a UK court, just like what Sophie Turner wanted in her newest appeal.

Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner Divorce

According to TMZ, Sophie Turner wanted the case to be moved to the United Kingdom. However, Joe Jonas' legal camp says that it's going to be a "dogfight" before the case will be tried overseas.

Jonas filed for divorce from his estranged wife Sophie Turner in Miami, Florida. Recent revelations say that Turner only knew about the divorce filing from the media, and not directly from her estranged husband.

Per Sophie's camp, their family had become UK-based, so the case must be settled there. However, it goes without logic that when the case is tried in the UK, it would be a home court advantage for Turner, and if it is in Miami, Jonas would definitely win.

The bittering custody battle comes at a fever pitch when Turner's legal camp accused Jonas of abducting their two children and refusing to return the passports to them, as Jonas had a change of heart about letting the children leave the country.

Meanwhile, the judge ruled at the time that the children must stay in New York. Per the outlet, if a federal judge ruled that the appropriate venue for the custody and divorce would be in the United States, he would take it in; otherwise, it can be tried in a UK court.

"The Father has possession of the children's passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother," Sophie's lawyers said in a statement.

Apparently, it has been decided in December 2022 that the children will be living in the United Kingdom. However, things went south and Jonas bailed on this previously decided agreement.

Sophie Turner Staying in New York City

Jonas was in initial custody of the child when it was decided that he would get to take care of them while Turner was in the UK for a shoot.

However, when the alleged abduction took place, she had flown back to the United States and had been staying in a New York apartment that her close friend Taylor Swift had loaned her.

Page Six has reported that Turner and the kids were living in Swift's Tribeca apartment for quite some time amid the bitter divorce and custody battle.
