Madonna just kicked off her highly-anticipated "Celebration Tour" a few days ago and aside from singing her beloved tracks from the past few decades, she also paid homage to some of the icons in the world of music.

One of the songs included in her setlist is Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" in which she praised the pop superstar for her rendition.

Taking to her official X account (formerly known as Twitter), the legendary musician shared a video of the singer's set at her concert at the O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.

In the caption, she praised Madonna as she wrote, "@Madonna congratulations on the launch of #TheCelebrationTour... So happy that you are in good health and ready to have a holiday with fans around the world! By the way, you have excellent taste in music."

According to Rolling Stone, the cover track is a part of the last few songs of her setlist. She began by playing an acoustic guitar throughout the first verse and chorus.

Since "I Will Survive" is already a classic hits which fans loved to listen to, concertgoers belted their hearts out to the track.

In the end, the song transitioned to Madonna's "La Isla Bonita." Throughout the night, she performed the majority of her classic songs from her different eras like "Like A Prayer," "Live to Tell," "Erotica," Burning Up," "Into the Hollywood Groove," "Everybody," "Vogue," "Ray of Light," and many more. Madonna took to her official Instagram account to thank her fans for supporting her on her opening night.

"Thank you LONDON! Opening Night! An Evening i will never forget," she wrote in the caption of the video.

Madonna Celebration Tour 2023 to 2024

Madonna kicked off her tour in London, the United Kingdom, as her series of concerts were rescheduled due to her health issues back in June.

At the time, the musician spent time in a hospital and needed to recover from a bacterial infection.

Now, her tour in North America will kick off at the Barclays Center in Brookln, NY, this December 13, 14, and 16, 2023. (via Consequence)

In addition, she will also visit some major cities around the United States like Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cleveland, St. Paul, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many more.

In addition, she will also hold shows at the Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico, on April 20, 21, 23, and 24, 2024.
