We're living in a world where Throwback Thursday is almost a national holiday, so it makes sense that NBC has really paid attention to just how much we love retro anything because they may have latched on to the best idea ever — live broadcasting!  Way back when, television sitcoms were shot live in front of a studio audience and NBC has decided to do the same with its new show Hospitality. The show will center on a group of people working for a Manhattan hotel and incomparable Sean Hayes will be leading the cast.

In truth the plot might not be the only draw to the show, especially when most viewers will be tuning in initially to try and catch the mistakes. It's those flubs, laughing fits and actors thinking on their feet that made live television so popular in the first place. There was always something exciting about knowing that the whole script could fall apart and maybe turn into something even better live on stage. NBC is hoping to cash in on this hope and Sean Hayes' comedic timing might actually be that wild card ticket to the network's success.

What do you guys think of NBC's idea to have Hospitality go live each week? We're living in a world where scripted drama with bad actors (à la the Kardashians) passes as reality television. Maybe it's time to actually swing things in a retro direction and have the scripted shows run in front of a live audience again. At least whatever unfolds on camera will really be authentic, right? Is it time to simplify television a little bit and revert back — at least on occasion — to the old way of doing things? Will you guys check out NBC's Sean Hayes leading the new cast of Hospitality when it begins airing? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
