It's been weeks since Slipknot announced that they already parted ways with their drummer, Jay Weinberg, and many people have shared their speculations on the band's new member. More recently, Shawn Crahan, popularly known for his moniker Clown, shared something on social media which sent fans into a frenzy as they had mixed reactions.

According to Loudwire, the percussionist took online to share a photo of a mask without giving any background or context.

The post doesn't allow people to comment on it so supporters took to Reddit to react about the matter.

Shawn 'Clown' Crahan's Post Gets Mixed Reactions

On Reddit, many believe that the musician is paying tribute to his late friend, Joey Jordison, as it looked like the mask he used to wear when he was still with the group.

"Either remembering Joey or auditioning new drummers. Or both. Nobody knows what goes on in that man's head," one wrote.

Other people believe that the band is hinting a potential hologram appearance of Jordison on stage.

"Hologram Joey confirmed? I saw them on the tour after Paul passed where they put his suit on stage. I was there at the Knebworth gig where Joey was crying hugging the mannequin and it broke me," one speculated.

Unfortunately, there were some negative comments as some fans noted that the band "pushed" Jordison away at the time when he needed help.

There were some people who defended them, as one wrote: "None of the band members wanted Joey to die. From what Corey said when the news of Joey's death first happened the two were actually talking on and off before he died and he definitely has some guilt over not telling Joey how much he meant to Corey."

As of this writing, Shawn Crahan has yet to reveal the meaning behind his mysterious post.

What Happened to Joey Jordison?

In 2021, the world of metal music mourned the death of Joey Jordison. At the time, he reportedly passed away "peacefully in his sleep."

He was 46 years old. He reportedly died due to transverse myelitis.

Jordison was one of the fundamental members of Slipknot since the beginning as he was a successful drummer.

According to Metal Injection, Joey Jordison previously revealed that his issues with his spinal cord prevented him to continue playing with Slipknot, but he also claimed that the group had fired him through an email.

"No band meeting? None. Anything from management? No, nothing. All I got was a stupid f****** email saying I was out of the band that I busted my ass my whole life to f****** create," he said.
