Britney Spears announced that she "will never return to the music industry" but she is also teasing "something" new on social media.

"Something is coming," the "Toxic'" singer wrote with a pair of eyes emojis and even linked a mailing list for fans to subscribe to.

However, she did not explain any further what project she was teasing, but according to reports, she may be hinting at the 25th anniversary of her hit song "Baby One More Time."

It has not been long since the singer vowed that she will not be making a music comeback anytime soon.

"Just so we're clear most of the news is trash," Spears wrote. "Salome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist." "They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album ... I will never return to the music industry !!!"

Britney Spears Wants to Make Music on Her Own Terms

Elsewhere in her lengthy social media post, the "Oops I Did It Again" singer expressed her interest in making music for other people, instead of her own.

"When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people," she wrote. "For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me ... I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!"

According to reports, Spears recorded several songs since being freed from her 13-year conservatorship; she was featured on Elton John's "Hold Me Closer" and Will.I.Am's "Mind Your Business."

"My music was my life, and the conservatorship was deadly for that; it crushed my soul,'" Spears wrote in her hit memoir, "The Woman in Me."
