Lamb of God

  • Jill Scott Tops Slow Billboard 200, Taylor Swift Spends 40 Weeks in Top 10

Jill Scott took advantage of a slower (if more competitive) week of album sales, coming in at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the second time in a row with her album 'Woman.' Although she can be please with the second no. 1 record in her career, the 62,000 equivalent copies she sold of her new set is less than half of what 'The Light Of The Sun' sold in its first week during 2011. 'Woman' marks the first no. 1 for a solo female performer in nearly five months.
  • Spotify Claims Metal Fans "Most Loyal" Among Genres; Is That A Bad Thing?

A study from Spotify has indicated that of all the genres in music, metal fans are the "most loyal" to their genre of choice. That may not be a good thing for metalheads.
  • Megadeth is Crowdfunding New Album: Fans Can Help Make 'Super Collider' Follow-Up

Even metalheads need a little help sometimes. Megadeth is asking its fans to help fund a new album, which will follow up 2013's 'Super Collider.' The band is offering everything from instruments to signed copies of the new album once it's released. Fans can help the group out by donating at Megadeth's PledgeMusic page.
  • Megadeth Names Lamb of God's Chris Adler as New Drummer for Forthcoming Release; Is A Guitarist Next?

Megadeth has confirmed at least one new member for the recording of its new album, declaring this week that Lamb of God's Chris Adler would step behind the kit. There's no word on whether he'll be able to continue on tour with the group, as his primary band is reportedly working on a new album as well, but it's a good start for the thrash icons.
  • Slipknot Guitarist Mick Thomson Hospitalized after Knife Fight with Brother; Will No. 7 Be Able to Tour Next Month?

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson has been hospitalized, along with his brother, after the two men got into a drunken knife fight...just in case you thought you had finally convinced your mother that metal just had a bad image. Both men were listed as being in serious condition but are expected to recover from their injuries.
  • Lamb of God Vocalist Randy Blythe Branching Out with Score for New Production from Richmond Ballet

Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe is branching out a bit and composing the score for a new ballet, which may-okay will almost certainly will-come as a surprise for fans of the Virginia groove metal band.

  • Lamb of God Fan Sues Live Nation for Mosh Pit Injury Suffered during 2012; Band Not Listed as A Defendant

Probably the last thing Lamb of God wanted to hear about as it works on a new album to be theoretically released during 2015: another lawsuit. As you'll recall, the last time the band ran into legal trouble due to injuries occurring at a performance, a Czech fan died in a stage diving accident and vocalist Randy Blythe spent more than a month in a foreign prison (he was later exonerated). The band isn't actually a defendant this time around but if the courts agree with the plaintiff, the metal band could still find itself in a sticky situation.
  • Foo Fighters, Slipknot Supergroup Teenage Time Killers Inks Record Deal, Features Dave Grohl, Corey Taylor and More

Dave Grohl and Corey Taylor are the most recent artists to join a supergroup. The Foo Fighters/Slipknot hybrid Teenage Time Killer was created by Corrosion of Conformity's Reed Mullin and also features former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe. The group made things super official too, inking a recording deal with Rise Records.
  • "Just South of Heaven" (Blake Shelton), "South of Heaven" (Slayer) and More Country Songs Seemingly Derived from Metal Titles

We were checking out Blake Shelton's new album Bringing Back The Sunshine (which topped the Billboard 200 last week) when we were struck by a humorous thought: "Man, 'Just South of Heaven' would sure make a great Slayer satire." It turns out that Shelton isn't alone in borrowing (or nearly borrowing) song titles from metal bands. We gathered a short list below, ranked from least similar in subject matter to most similar in subject matter.
  • Chris Adler Ambiguous on Whether He's The Drummer on Slipknot's 'The Negative One'

The rumor mill has been churning for months regarding who will helm the skins for Slipknot's forthcoming album and the hot option is Lamb of God's Chris Adler. When asked if he was responsible for "The Negative One," he replied as ambiguously as possible.
