Jelly Roll and Tori Kelly are just some of the special guests that will be part of this year's "American Idol" and the upcoming 22nd season seems to be bigger than ever.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the country superstar and the pop singer will serve as guest mentors and performer to contestants that have yet to be announced.

This will be a full-circle moment for Kelly as she became a contestant on the show in the past. The singer was able to reach the Hollywood Week back in season 9. At the time, the musician was only 18 years old, but even though she didn't succeed, she was able to make a career for herself as Kelly dropped her first EP in 2012.

Both of their appearances will be filmed at Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai'i and they will reportedly perform on the beach.

This season's judges will still be Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. "American Idol" is still being hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The new season of "American Idol" will premiere on Sunday, February 18, 2024, via ABC. It will also be available for streaming on Hulu.

Jelly Roll Updates

2023 is a massive year for Jelly Roll and he's just warming up for 2024. Last year, the singer was announced as a Grammy nominee under the categories Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Save Me" with Lainey Wilson and the Best New Artist. (via Billboard)

Unfortunately, the musician didn't snag both awards, but regardless, he is still victorious in terms of Billboard chart hits.

This year will not be his first time appearing on "American Idol" because in 2023, he teamed up with Wilson to perform their track at the finale. In addition, he also collaborated with contestant Oliver Steele for an on-stage performance of "Need a Favor."

Tori Kelly Updates

Last week, Tori Kelly spoke with People Magazine at the Recording Academy Honors. During the conversation, she revealed that her new song "High Water" was a late addition to her new album because she wrote it after being hospitalized last year.

"I had a health scare last year, so I thought my album was done, and then when that happened I was like, 'I need an inspirational song. I need something to kind of pick me up out of this place,'" she said.

In early reports, Tori Kelly fainted while out with friends in Los Angeles. She was later taken to a hospital and doctors later determined that she had blood clots around her lungs and legs.

"It was really crazy and scary," she told Jennifer Hudson on her talk show.
