Camila Cabello is most notably known as a product of Fifth Harmony.

After she left the group in 2016, she pursued an independent music career. Being the first to depart from the group, her departure definitely sparked some issues and controversy within the group and on their fanbase.

Years after her departure, Cabello talked sparsely about her time in the group. She can now confidently answer questions and discuss her times with the girls.

Camila Cabello Distanced Herself From Fifth Harmony

A lot has happened since Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony. She has since released three studio albums, has hosted "The Voice" for one season, and even earned four Grammy nominations.

However, her departure from the group didn't happen smoothly. Drama ensued, and it rocked her hard. For example, the now-infamous faceless fifth member was yanked off stage during Fifth Harmony's 2017 VMA performance. Cabello revealed that such a move "definitely hurt [her] feelings."

Very recently, Cabello was interviewed by Alex Cooper on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. She then revealed that she can now reflect on her time with the girl group.

"I feel like I can really focus on and remember the really joyful times," she realized. "I grew a lot in that group."

At one point, she even remembered that she purposely distanced herself from the girls by privately writing songs and passing them along to other artists.

"It turned into, 'No, actually, I want to sing these songs by myself,'" she explained. "I started distancing myself from the group vision. They were still really passionate and into that."

In retrospect, Cabello recalled that she was drifting away from the group.

"I was just like, 'I'm not happy here anymore. It doesn't feel aligned,'" she added. "It's like any breakup, yeah. It sucks."

Camila Cabello, Fifth Harmony Reunion?

Fifth Harmony announced their indefinite hiatus as the remaining members pursued their solo careers in 2018. After so many years, the group seemed to have hinted at a reunion after they, including Cabello, excited Normani on Instagram after announcing that she's finally releasing her new album, "Dopamine."

Reports emerged pointing to a Fifth Harmony reunion. However, multiple Rolling Stone sources debunked this claim.

No reason has been revealed yet why such a Fifth Harmony reunion is impossible, but it could be primarily because of Normani's upcoming debut and Cabello's new album.
