Blake Harrison's band, Pig Destroyer, broke its silence following the passing of its longtime member.

Multiple media outlets reported Harrison's death after Relapse Records and other labels released their respective statements regarding the saddening news. No cause of death was given.

Pig Destroyer Remembers Blake Harrison

Harrison joined Pig Destroyer in 2006 and continued playing with the group through 2022. Following his death, the band issued a lengthy statement as the members also recalled their time with the late musician.

On Pig Destroyer's official Facebook page, the musical group uploaded several photos of Harrison during his time with the band, including some snaps featuring his former bandmates.

According to the band, Harrison was its "spirit animal" for over two decades.

"In the early oughts, Blake's band Daybreak and Pig Destroyer were both fledgling bands of malcontents fighting to establish our footprint in the scene," it noted. "Eventually, Blake joined PD in early 2004 helping with merch on the Grind Over UK tour. Thus began a creative brotherhood and friendship that would span over two decades, across many countries, and over several albums."

Harrison joined Pig Destroyer as a full-time sound designer before realizing they could have him as a band member.

The group said they shared the same values and basic beliefs in their passion, and that helped them bond like a family.

"Everyone that knew Blake loved Blake. Light bent around him. You only had to meet him once. We in Pig Destroyer are forever grateful for the time we've been able to share with him," the band went on.

Pig Destroyer ended its post by thanking Harrison for giving them the best time in the band.
