NBC's "The Voice" has recruited The A Team.

The network announced on Wednesday that singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran would join the cast of Season 5 of the "The Voice" as a mentor for Christina Aguilera's team, according to E! Online.

News also broke later Monday that Sheeran, who is currently touring with Taylor Swift on her Red tour, would headline his own show at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 1.

As MStars previously reported, The Wrap reported that Aguilera, who left the show after Season 3 to promote her album Lotus, has signed a contract to return to the show, according to an individual with knowledge of the deal. That same insider said the deal has been kept quiet for months.

The executive told the site that Aguilera will earn $12.5 million for the fifth season of "The Voice."

A different insider told The Wrap that the pop star made $17 million for Season 3, which made her one of the highest paid women in all of reality television. The insider said she could earn that amount again depending on how many hours she works.

Green would not make anything approaching that amount of money.

The network also negotiated with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who have judged and coached on the show in each of its four seasons. Both men will return for Season 5.

"The Voice" returns on Monday, Sept. 23 with a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. Shakira and Usher, judges from Season 4, will leave the show until Season 6 next spring.
