Despite bad weather, the 2024 Houston Rodeo went on Friday night (March 15) with the Jonas Brothers setting a new record.

The Jonas Brothers Breaks Record

A social media announcement from the rodeo said that the Jonas Brothers broke the previous record for paid attendance at NRG Park in Houston, drawing 75,600 fans to their performance.

According to local CBS affiliate KHOU 11, Los Tigres del Norte previously held the record when they sold 75,595 tickets for their performance on Go Tejano Day earlier in the 2024 Houston Rodeo.

Five additional tickets sold for the Jonas Brothers appearance pushed them to the new record.

Every year, the rodeo features artists from a wide range of genres, including pop acts like the Jonas Brothers, but country music fans have a particularly strong presence at the show.

Garth Brooks' Cover

To please the country fans in the crowd, the Jonas Brothers covered Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" during their set.

The group, which had not performed at the rodeo since 2009, gave a career-spanning performance that mixed older songs like "S.O.S." and "Year 3000" with more recent songs like "Waffle House" and "Celebrate!"

Though the JoBros have often identified more with contemporary and pop-country music than with vintage throwbacks, they are no strangers to country music. They previously collaborated with Kelsea Ballerini in a duet at the 2016 ACM Awards. Recently, they performed a duet with Bailey Zimmerman.

In another news, the Freedom Festival recently revealed that the Jonas Brothers will be the main attraction at the 2024 Stadium of Fire event.

Since its founding in 1980, Stadium of Fire has grown to become one of Utah's biggest annual events and a beloved tradition. It is hosted on Independence Day each year.

America's Freedom Festival, which arranges numerous patriotic events for the holiday that draw more than 500,000 attendees, is presenting the concert.

The event has sought the Jonas Brothers to come back ever since they last performed at LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2009, according to festival executive director Jim Evans.

He expressed the hope that this would happen before the "year 3000."
