It's been nearly six years since Cardi B released her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, and fans have been waiting for her to drop the follow-up record.

Recently, the rapper gave hints about her next project, saying there will be some songs that fans won't expect. The "Bodak Yellow" recently had a short Q&A session with her fans on Threads, during which one follower asked her to describe her next album in one word.

Cardi replied: "Different. I think it's different. I think there's going to be some songs that are, like, not expected to come from me." (via Uproxx)

As of this writing, the rapper has yet to share the official announcement about her next album, and she has yet to unveil an official release date.

What's Something About Herself That Surprised Cardi B?

In other questions, one user asked the musician about something that surprised her in the past year, but Cardi said she didn't want to talk about what happened in 2023. However, Cardi noted that she wanted to open up about what has been happening to her this year so far, saying she was surprised to let go of her anxiety and get herself out there more often.

Later on, she made a revelation that fans might be surprised about. Cardi said she's "very introverted," and although most people would perceive her as someone fun to be around, the rapper admitted that she's very shy in person, which surprises people when they meet her.

Cardi B Lost Herself Amid Negative Comments

The recent news comes after Cardi B spoke with Speedy Morman on his 360 with Speedy podcast. During the conversation she opened up about losing her cool after receiving negative comments about her being afraid to release an album.

Public perception and her anxiety were some of the factors that led to her decision not to release a lot of music in 2023.

"I was afraid to go live, I was afraid to post a picture, I was afraid to go to the club, and then the next day seeing people, what they going to say about me, and everything," she added.

She later apologized to her fans, saying she had lost herself because of the negative things that made her hold back. Cardi also apologized for not giving her all.
