Homophobia is one of the most unfortunate trends in the world of hip-hop, and early yesterday morning, rapper Snoop Dogg made a post to his Instagram and Twitter accounts that fell right in line with this trend. As Buzzfeed reports, the 42-year-old rapper posted a photo to his Instagram of two men lying in bed together, with this confusing but still offensive caption:

"U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn b***h boy go suck ya man off my line f. A. G."

The Instagram post was also linked in a tweet sent out by Snoop, but within 40 minutes, both posts had been deleted.

Though homophobia isn't uncommon in the world of hip-hop, People points out that Snoop has expressed some positive opinions about homosexuality during recent years, which makes his posts even more surprising. Last year, he told the Huffington Post, "Satisfy your life accordingly" in reference to gay marriage. "I have no issues with nobody, I live for me and I live my life doing what I do, so you should have the right to do whatever you want to do."

He also told the Guardian last year, "I don't have a problem with gay people. I got some gay homies." When speaking about R&B singer Frank Ocean in the same interview, who famously came out as bisexual in 2012, Snoop commented that bisexuality and homosexuality is "acceptable in the singing world...but in the rap world I don't know if it will ever be acceptable, because rap is so masculine."
